IN THE MOMENT- Neon

Hey Everyone,

Usually spring marks all the pastels, ivory, and whites but this year a lot of designers have been introducing bright neon's. I love pastel tones but this year I've been very fond of all the neon accessories such as watches, purses, shoes, and bracelets. Here's a versatile watch I thought would spice up an outfit. I'm really debating if I should get this. What do you guys think? Accents of colors can really make a world of a difference! I'm so ready for Spring!!

The best parenting tip we most neglect

Hey Everyone,

I had quite a few request to talk about parenting tips so I wanted to share a tip Chris and I learned to have a great marriage and a family.

The most important tip we learned was: Protect your marriage
The husband-wife union is not just a good first step towards child rearing. It is a necessary one. (based on the book"Baby Wise")

I've learned that the greatest overall influence we will have on our child isn't as an individual parent, but in the joint role as husband and wife. A healthy husband-wife relationship is essential to the emotional health of children in the home, and it infuse a stability within the family. A strong marriage also provides a lot of security for children as they grow in the nurturing process.

Chris and I are very conscience of this as we are walking into the world of parenting. I have to be eve more mindful of this because I'm with Topher all day and I can easily make him the center of my attention. I tell Chris when I feel we need more alone time and I crave it if we don't have it on a daily basis.

Here are a few things we do and the tips the book "Baby Wise" recommends to have a strong marriage/ family:

1) Life doesn't stop once you have a baby. It may slow down for a few weeks, but it should not stop entirely. When you become a mother, you do not stop being a daughter, a sister, a friend, or a wife. Those relationship must still be maintained.
2) Date your spouse. Chris and I use to have weekly date nights so we do what we can to keep those sacred. We do what we can to get a babysitter.
3) Continue those loving gestures you enjoyed before the baby came along. I still tell Chris how much I love him everyday and we always give each other a kiss goodbye every morning. I also text him random text messages throughout the day. We also try to keep doing the activities we loved to do together such as singing, working out, outdoor activities, etc.
4) Invite some friends over for food and fellowship. This forces you to plan your child's day around serving others as you work together to prepare your home for the guests. Chris and I invited friends over to watch the football games or to play basketball.
5) At the end of each day, spend fifteen minutes sitting with your spouse discussing the day's event. Chris and I call this "couch time" which takes place after we put him to sleep around 11pm. We realized that the living room had too much distractions so we do it in our bedroom.

Hopefully these tips will help you guys as well!

This is what TRUE LOVE is....

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is enjoying their Tuesday and especially Valentine's Day!
This is my 3rd Valentine's day with Chris and very memorable one because it's our first with Topher.
What if everyday was Valentine's Day where we show love to people we love? That'll be different right?

This was going around on facebook and I had to share it because this is what True Love is.

The story behind this picture:

'So today I was in Hallmark buying my mom a Happy Birthday card when I noticed this old man stnding in front of the Valentines card section contemplating which one to get. I decide to go over and I ask him “Are you getting a Valentine’s Day for your wife?” in which he replies 'No my wife died 3 years ago from breast cancer but I still buy her roses and a card and bring them to her grave to prove to her that she was the only one that will ever have my heart'

I hope this story can bring a great smile to your heart. Let's protect our love for one another until the end.

Love,
Sandy

IN THE MOMENT - Jessica Stein

Hey Everyone,

I was really inspired by this post by WhatWhatWear.com so I had to share.
This totally reminded me of Spring. I can't wait to run around in flowy dresses, pastel tones, and glitter accessories. I'm still in the process of recovering so I have to stay bundled up as much as possible but I can't wait to run around in flowy tops in Spring. I'm definitely trying to add more color into my wardrobe. I actually look best in pastel colors because of my skin tone but I don't own too many of them. Possible investment pieces this year?

Possibly some inspiration for Valentines Day.

Which look is your favorite?

Beauty Basic Part II

Hey Everyone!

Happy hump day!
I've been loving the weather these past few weeks. It definitely doesn't feel like winter anymore. It's been in the mid 70's or low 80's the past few weeks. It reminded me of how much I really missed the sun.

A few day's ago I did another poll of Facebook and asked everyone what type of foundation they used most often. The winner was definitely BB creme or also known as a Tint lotion.

Tint lotions are great for everyone. I recommend to use one with SPT to protect your skin from the sun. It's great for day's when you don't want to wear any make up but still have some coverage. Also, you can use it as a primer to help your foundation, powders, loose powder, etc to apply smoother. I personally use it whenever I go out.

Why I changed up my routine:
My usual routine is my tint lotion and a loose powder but this year I switched it up a little. Since it was incredibly dry this year I tried a creme foundation. I've never used one before but I actually really love it. It's great for winter because it helps your skin feel and look moisturized. Loose powder can look too matte and dry. I really like the one I got. It's from Artistry but unfortunately they don't carry it here in the US. I special ordered it from Korea. I love the consistency and the way it feels on my skin. It also makes me skin look super radiant and extra healthy. I really love it!

My current daily routine:
I apply a shimmer tint lotion (pearl tube) or regular tint lotion (black tube), then concealer, and lastly my favorite creme foundation.

Here are what my friends chose as their favorite foundation:

  1.   Yeeun Lee BB cream and powder foundation

  2. Sharon Kweon Bb cream

  3. Jeska Lee I use MAC liquid foundation most of time, but I've been using BB cream these days and put powder on top lightly. I like BB cream, but only downside would be limited color variations :(

  4. Jenny Lee Lazy day: BB cream since it has SPF and i'm too lazy to do anything Non-lazy day: BB cream, Foundation, and powder.. :D that's only when I go out somewhere nice..

  5. Erica Gonzalez Artistry Tint Lotion!
  6. Regina Suh Mineral powder and BB cream on heavier days.
  7. Jamie Lee foundation w loose powder
  8. Eun Young Ellen Choi Baked powder foundation. Good coverage but doesnt feel heavy~

Me and my friends recently did a comparison with the tint lotion I use and some of the really popular one's in the market and we literally almost fell off our seat. It was really surprising!

Let me know if you would like me to share the photo's and our experience.

Love,
Sandy
